My Wellness Essentials for Travel

I just returned from the most MAGICAL 2 weeks in Europe (Italy and Greece, specifically) celebrating my honeymoon with my husband, and I was inspired to create this post to share with you my favorite essentials for maintaining wellness when I’m traveling.

While I fully believe in vacationing - getting out of your routine, prioritizing rest, indulging in amazing food and wine, and everything else that comes along with traveling - there are still some things that I like to do to keep my general wellness in check and help me to stay balanced while I’m traveling.

These things are my wellness essentials for travel, regardless of how far or long I’m going for:

1) Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask: Okay, friends. When I tell you that this mask is an absolute lifesaver for travel, I’m not at all exaggerating. There’s a reason this is first on the list. It’s no secret that the stale air on planes can dry your skin out, so I always carry the Jet Lag moisturizing mask from Summer Fridays with me in my carry on, so that I can apply it in flight to keep my skin hydrated. The best part is, that you don’t need to rinse the mask off of your face, and it can be worn as a “leave on” mask, making it the perfect travel companion (both the regular and mini sizes are less 3 ounces). Even better? It’s EWG verified, meaning that it meets EWG’s strictest standards for health and safety.

2) LMNT hydration sticks: On the note of getting dried out on planes, it’s not only important to keep your skin hydrated, but to keep your body hydrated, as well. And you can kill two birds with one stone with LMNT hydration sticks. I drink them on every flight, and bring enough with me for one every day if I know I’m going to be drinking alcohol, walking around a lot, and/or spending time in the sun!

3) Arrae Bloat supplements: Long flights, irregular eating patterns, and changing time zones can leave us feeling… backed up… but when I tell you that taking Arrae Bloat supplements right before a flight has been a game changer in that department, I’m not lying! They not only reduce bloating, but help with indigestion, which is great when you’re traveling and maybe stepping out of your typical diet (or indulging a little more than normal).

4) Compression socks: These are new to my traveling routine (aka, I just got my first pair for this trip) but I will never be flying without these again! Compression socks are amazing for travel (especially flying) because they help to stimulate circulation when you’re sitting for prolonged periods of time, fight fatigue in your legs, and prevent swelling and inflammation. I purchased these cute compression socks from Comrad - the recommended compression for travel is 8-20mmHg.

5) Zinc supplements: Travel can compromise our immune system. Exposure to germs is typically higher when you’re traveling… you’re in and out airports, on planes, in Ubers or taxis, in restaurants and bars, you’re out and about, lacking sleep due to jetlag or late nights out… the list goes on! Zinc is an immunity booster, so I start taking zinc daily 1 week before and continue taking it daily throughout my trip to make sure my immune system has a little extra boost! You can buy any zinc supplements - they’re available just about everywhere!

There you have it! My wellness essentials while I’m traveling! What are yours?
